The Last
HIGHWAY

LOGLINE
Tanya, the dazzling “Karg Girl” of a Texas root beer empire, tours the PBR rodeo circuit with her cynical chaperone, Travis. When conflicting romances spark and her hidden dream to be a country singer collides with the life she’s been handed, Tanya must decide if she’ll stay the face of a brand—or finally step into her own spotlight.

This film is a spirited, heartfelt exploration of self-worth,
the pressures of youth and
relevance, the illusions of
corporate culture, and the
tangled beauty of love. At
its core is the uplifting
story of a small town Texas
girl who dares to step
beyond expectation and
chase the life she truly
wants. With its alternate
title, The Karg Girl, the film
offers a fresh and
distinctive perspective on
identity, ambition, and the
courage it takes to rewrite
your own story.

VISUAL
STYLE

Bathed in the glow of Texas sunsets
where dusty rodeos meet

neon lit bars
& rural rest stops.

The Last Highway shimmers with the “rodeo girl” sparkle of 90's Shania glamour.

TANYA
TANYA, 20s, is living her small town Texas dream as The Karg Girl—the rodeo-traveling, float waving icon of the state’s most famous root beer. Crisscrossing the back roads with her mentor and chaperone, TRAVIS, 60s, their bond is part father-daughter, part something more complicated and it anchors her restless, peripatetic life. When Tanya falls for CODY, a rising PBR rodeo star, and also reconnects with her old high-school love, she finds herself torn between past and future. But just as Karg Root Beer prepares to go national, Tanya learns Mr. Karg is ready to trade her in for a younger, flashier sex symbol. At this crossroads, she must decide if she’ll cling to the role that defined her—or risk everything to chase the deeper dream that’s been quietly growing inside her: to step out from the sidelines and become a country singer.

CODY
Our distraction. The picturesque bull-riding cowboy Tanya could have if she abandoned her dreams and succumbed to the life of a rodeo wife.
He’s gorgeous and charming but he’s totally full of himself and far from faithful.
MARKETING
The film draws on a thriving cultural aesthetic that has long celebrated young women and men in the rodeo world. Books like Lisa Eisner’s photographic collection Rodeo Girl have captured the bold, glamorous spirit of barrel racers and rodeo queens—a culture that seamlessly blends fashion, nostalgia, and Americana in a way that feels both iconic and highly marketable. From PBR apparel lines, TikTok trends and vintage western brands, there is a built-in visual appetite for Tanya’s world and her rhinestone-and-dreams story.
•A strong vehicle for awards-worthy performances •Low-to-mid budget indie with high emotional payoff •Cross-market potential with the country music audience •Connects with iconic rodeo audiences, with marketing potential for clothing, soundtrack, and hit singles •Festival-minded (Sundance, SXSW, Telluride)
