EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

LOGLINE

Finn Image 2

A coming-of-age story of a patrician English boy and his beloved, prize-winning champion Irish Wolfhound, separated in the treacherous Outback of Australia, forcing each to embark on a journey of survival and self-discovery, as they search to be reunited.

CASTING

The Production Team is in the process of securing letters of intent for the lead roles of LIAM, ELIZABETH, and THOMAS. High-profile talent is also being approached for several of the top supporting roles in the film. Cast is being sought on the basis of artistic sensibilities, bankability and marketing awareness.

FINANCING

The financial requirement for this plan is $19 million. $19 million will provide for the development, production, and post-production deliverables for the film. The structure allows for both a traditional distribution path of an acquisition deal as well as a self-motivated release strategy of the film.

SALES

The Production Team is in discussions to attach strong international sales representation to present FINN globally at major film markets. FINN can rise above the crowded pack of formulaic blockbusters filling the cinemas today. The budget for the proposed film has been designed with the financial return in mind and has been structured to be flexible. The return strategy is based on a practical plan for accessing traditional urban and family adventure markets. Additionally, the Production team will position the film towards individuals looking for a new, family drama with complex characters, and a heartwarming story of friendship. Theatrical, New Media, Streaming Video on Demand (SVOD), DVD/Blu-Ray, broadcast, and foreign distribution outlets will be pursued—each with specific intent.

The Production Team

Pamela Murphy
Executie Producer

Pamela Murphy is an accomplished Executive and Producer.

As a Development Executive for Actor-Producer Michael Douglas at two of his production companies, Pamela created and headed the Story Department, working closely with writers, directors, and producers to develop material for the companies’ extensive slate of feature films.

Pamela then served as Vice President of Development at Hallmark Entertainment, overseeing the development of numerous films and television mini-series.

She subsequently embarked on her independent film career by establishing Sirocco Films with producing partner Bernard Giglio. Based in Los Angeles and Paris, Sirocco specialized in international co-productions. Pamela’s notable projects at Sirocco include serving as Executive Producer for BLOG VOYAGE, a contemporary hour-long television pilot for French Travel Channel; U.S. Producer for STEPS TO THE FUTURE, a five-part episodic documentary series aired on Science Television (France2 and France5) and distributed internationally; Executive Producer of KIRI WAI: INNER SKIN, a documentary film that premiered at the New Zealand Film Festival; and Executive Producer of THROUGH THE TEAR, a documentary exploring humanity’s genetic origins in Africa’s Cradle of Humanity.

Pamela went on to create Jacaranda Road Productions, dedicated to producing feature film and television projects she feels passionate about. Projects under this banner include FINN, written by William S. Myers, among several other U.S.-centric and international co-productions.

In 2024, Pamela served as Executive Producer for the acclaimed Hallmark film CHRISTMAS UNDER THE LIGHTS, starring Heather Hemmens and Marco Grazzini.

With extensive experience collaborating with talent and shaping projects from inception through development, Pamela is highly skilled at recognizing compelling material and elevating scripts to their highest creative potential. She particularly enjoys the collaborative process of bringing meaningful and engaging stories to the screen.

Target Markets

FAMILY TEENS URBAN PROFESSIONALS

Finn Image 24

Adults and families are looking for films that the whole family can enjoy together. Also, young urban professionals accounted for an exceptional 18-20% of total ticket sales for similar titles to FINN. With sophisticated sensibilities and disposable income—this demographic is one of the most crucial emerging sales groups to focus on. With the average moviegoer in this category purchasing upwards of 8 movie tickets/year (per MPAA statistics), this group is more likely to be keyed into movie culture, and excited by a film like FINN. Teens on average use various screens nearly 7-and-a-half hours a day. As a result, the potential for word-of-mouth sales is also outstanding with this group.

With a demographic that’s also twice as likely to use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter & Instagram daily, the marketing potential with this demographic is huge. The success of family adventure films, like The Art of Racing in the Rain and A Dog’s Way Home experienced increased box office results due to savvy word-of-mouth marketing campaigns. The results of both films are something that Producers of FINN are keen to replicate. And with many different aspects of FINN being appealing to this diverse demographic, whether it’s the noble character struggle, bond between a boy and his dog, there is plenty of potential for FINN to strike a chord with this audience group.

FAMILY ADVENTURE FANS

Adventure films have been and remain one of the most popular genres in cinema. Adventure films as of 2024,  are number one in total market share (27.23%). The beauty of family adventure films specifically is that they are able to cater to not only young children but adults as well. FINN follows this same tried-and-true structure of using a family genre film to examine the greater subjects of identity, family, pride, friendship, adversity, self-confidence, and many other relevant themes to both young and old audiences alike. With exciting adventure elements, relatable characters, and a heartfelt story about friendship, FINN is poised for success by truly providing something for everyone.

This mass appeal is the beauty of family films. Films such as Togo to Isle of Dogs – live action or animated -  the genre is truly malleable enough to appeal to a broad and diverse range of individuals, each with different tastes while also staying firmly within the family genre, enhancing the potential appeal of a film like FINN. Animal lovers and beyond will be hungry for any media content with heartwarming and adventure filled stories, leaving this film with a great amount of potential to see a healthy financial return.

MARKETING POTENTIAL

VIDEO GAME:  In addition to an action-adventure video game in which there are many dangers on the path for Finn and Liam to find each other, it’s possible FINN could be created as an “interactive” feature film….the emerging trend.

PLUSH TOYS:  Irish Wolfhounds would make a great plush toy – small and body sized.  Dingoes could also be a toy.

BOARD GAME: The path to Liam and Finn finding each other, as well as Liam and Woorin’s search for GOLD would make a good board game.

FILM SCORE – the score would be big, lush, and beautiful (i.e. Alexandre Desplat – John Williams).
